It's A Wonderful Life (new stage play adaptation)
Auditions will be at Bellevue Little Theatre 203 W Mission Ave, Bellevue, NE 68005 September 15- 7:00 PM September 18- 7:00 PM
Production runs December 6-22, 2024; Fridays-Sundays Rehearsals will begin Late September/October Director: D Laureen Pickle
Production is in need of of child and adult actors of any gender or ethnicity. BIPOC are especially encouraged to audition. Please be prepared to read from the script.
About the Play: It’s A Wonderful Life is an adaptation of Frank Capra’s masterpiece film. This is the saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls, whose dreams of escape and adventure have been squashed by family obligations and civic duty, and whose guardian angel has to descend on Christmas Eve to save him from despair, and to remind him – by showing him what the world would have been like had he never been born – that he has had, after all, a wonderful life.

Character Descriptions: -Adult George – Young man, late 20’s to mid 30’s – strong acting, some singing -Clarence – Male, late 40’s and up – a gentle soul, strong acting, light comedy -Dr. Campbell/Reineman/Toll keeper – Male, late 30’s and up, multiple roles -Gower/Principal/Martini – Male, 40’s and up, multiple roles -Young George/Pete – Boy (or Girl playing a boy), 7-12 -Adult Violet -- Young woman, late 20’s to mid 30’s – strong acting, comedy, several songs -Adult Mary – Young woman, late 20’s to mid 30’s – strong acting, some singing -Uncle Billy – Older man, late 40’s and up – strong comic acting, possibly some singing -Cousin Tilly/Annie/Maria – Older woman, 50’s and up – versatile acting, some singing -Joseph/Mr. Bailey/Cop – Older man, 50’s and up -Mother/Cousin Eustace – Older woman, 50’s and up --Multiple ensemble parts for all ages. Ensemble will play multiple parts in many scenes, and may sing in 1-2 numbers. Children will also have opportunities for singing.

We are always in search of talent of all ages, mostly adult. Our children shows require many child actors, as do some of the other shows, as listed in the audition notices.
